The Lutheran Foundation meets with the Bishop of the Indiana-Kentucky Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

The Lutheran Foundation (TLF) was honored to have The Reverend Dr. William Gafkjen, Bishop of the Indiana-Kentucky Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), stop by the office on September 19, 2023. Bishop Gafkjen has served the ELCA congregations in the Indiana and Kentucky region, including our ten county TLF service area, since 2010 and was elected last year to his third six-year term. Pictured with Bishop Gafkjen are The Reverend Steve Ahlersmeyer (Director of Ministry Programs at TLF), Mark Dixon (President & CEO at TLF), and TLF board members Chris Walda and The Reverend Dr. Gary Erdos. Bishop Gafkjen expressed thanks for the work of TLF in serving our Lutheran ministries and community. He emphasized the importance of congregations engaging with the communities of which they are located, and the need to uplift and support our dedicated pastors and church workers.
