Lutheran Park donated to Boys & Girl's Club

On June 11, The Lutheran Foundation (TLF) announced the donation of Lutheran Park to the Boys & Girls Club. The 13-acre park is located on Fairfield Avenue.
Over the years, TLF received several offers to purchase the property but remained committed to preserving it for community use. “I, as well as the Board, realized we are a philanthropic foundation and holding parcels of land did not align with our mission,” said Mark Dixon, TLF President & CEO. “We truly wanted it to remain a park.”
A chance meeting with Joe Jordan, President & CEO of the Boys & Girls Club, helped inspire the Foundation’s decision. “It occurred to me what a profound impact the Boys & Girls Club had on my own life as a young boy,” Dixon shared. “We're delighted this park will serve this organization, and our prayers are it will have a positive impact on numerous children for years to come.”
Jordan expressed deep gratitude for the gift, calling it “a lasting legacy.” He added, “This donation is not just a gift to us – it speaks to a profound belief in what we do and the impact we hope to make for generations to come. We are humbled by this generosity and promise to honor the legacy it represents.”
The donation ensures that the land will continue to benefit youth and the broader community for years ahead.
