Lutheran Park and Gardens

The sale of Lutheran Hospital led to the demolition of the original facility. After listening to community concerns and gathering input from the five surrounding neighborhood associations, the property was transformed into Lutheran Park and Gardens. Following an investment of $900,000 in land improvement and development, the park was officially dedicated “to the glory of God and for the enjoyment of all” on June 25, 2006.

Lutheran Park and Gardens is located adjacent to The Lutheran Foundation building at 3024 Fairfield Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana. The park includes:

  • Four cornerstones with plaques memorializing Lutheran Hospital’s history
  • A splash pad
  • Walking paths and green space
  • Meditation garden featuring the historic Healing Christ Statue, dedicated to Lutheran Hospital in 1916

Everyone is welcome at Lutheran Park and Gardens. Bring your kids to play in the splash pad, enjoy a stroll around the walking paths, or take a moment to pray in the meditation garden.
