Health Professions Scholarships

The Lutheran Foundation manages 19 restricted scholarship funds and acknowledges the importance of highly trained, compassionate healthcare professionals in our region. The Health Professions Scholarship Program allows the Foundation to invest in individuals pursuing a degree in nursing and other healthcare professions.

Since 2008, The Lutheran Foundation has awarded more than $583,275 in scholarships.


In order to be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must:

  • Pursue a career in nursing or other healthcare-related field
  • Reside in one of the following counties: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, or Whitley
  • Attend an eligible college or university
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale

  • Trine University, Angola
  • Trine University, Fort Wayne
  • University of Saint Francis, Fort Wayne

      • We utilize our Grant Portal system for scholarship applications as well. If you have submitted and application prior to 2017, select New Online Applicant? to register because this is a new version of the Grant Portal. Please use the same email and password.
  2. Scholarship Application including additional required documentation is submitted by the deadline date.
  3. Scholarship Applications are reviewed and scholarships are awarded.
