We endeavor to invest in Lutheran organizations in our 10-county region to further mission and ministry programming.
The Reverend Richard Koehneke may be retired from full-time parish ministry, but that hasn’t stopped him from shepherding a flock. He’s turned his attention from members of a congregation to church workers in the Indiana District of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod through Caring for the Called, a program he started in 2014. The goal is to make sure pastors and other church workers are taking care of themselves as they take care of others.
In his own time as a pastor, Koehneke said he packed his schedule so tightly that he had hardly any room to breathe – or grow. “I really wasn’t giving God any room to work because I was so busy myself,” he says. Now he works with congregations to help them set up systems to prevent similar issues from happening in their parish.See More
