Ministry Resource Grant

Grant Overview

Ministry Resource Grants provide supplemental resourcing for a broad range of ministry service in Lutheran congregations.

They are available to enhance, enrich or expand some aspect of your current ministry.

Examples

• strategic planning
• leadership development and training
• church revitalization
• addition of new ministry staff
• implementation of a new ministry initiative
• technology improvements
• capital improvements

  1. Register to attend a Grant Workshop
    • Workshop attendance is required. Beginning in 2018, organizations are now only required to attend one grant workshop per calendar year.
    • July 11th 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm. Click here to register
    • July 12th 11:30 am - 1:00 pm. Click here to register
  2. Concept Paper is submitted by the deadline date.
    • Ministry Resource Concept Paper
      • If you have applied for grants prior to 2017, select New Online Applicant? to register because this is a new version of the Grant Portal. Please use the same email and password.
    • Download and complete the Ministry Resource Budget
    • A Committee reviews and determines if the congregation should proceed with submitting an application.
  3. TLF staff will send an email notifying the congregation of the Committee’s decision. If you are notified to proceed, an application link will be emailed.
  4. Grant Application including additional required documentation is submitted by the deadline date.
  5. Grant Applications are reviewed and TLF Board of Directors makes final decisions on grant awards.

As a grant recipient, you are required to complete reporting requirements throughout the grant period. For information on required reports and deadlines, please reference the Grant Agreement.

Progress Report

  • Download and complete the Progress Report-Financial
  • Login to the grant portal to access the Progress Report Narrative
  • Complete the narrative portion and upload completed financial report prior to submitting.

Final Report

  • Download and complete the LC Final Report-Financial
    • The financial information on the financial must align with the information on budget submitted with the application.
    • Any variance must be explained for each line item on the financial report.
  • Login to the grant portal to access the MR Final Report Narrative
  • Complete the narrative portion and upload the completed financial report prior to submitting.
  • Any incorrect or incomplete reports will affect release of payments or consideration of future funding requests.

Notification of the grant decision will be emailed by the 10th of the following month.
