Designed for pastors, ministry leaders and/or lay people responsible for congregation communications, The Lutheran Foundation and Trinity English Lutheran Church are excited to bring the eFormation Bootcamp to Fort Wayne, Indiana. Out of Lifelong Learning at Virginia Theological Seminary, the team at eFormation, believes culturally savvy, digitally literate leadership skills are essential in every congregation. Join us to explore the intersection between formation, communications, and 21st century technology in a hands-on 2-day experience.

    In the workshop, Keith Anderson, a full-time parish pastor, will share his experience and practical strategies for parish leaders in collaborating within and beyond the congregation to bring digital ministry dreams to reality.
  • Communication as Formation: getting formation leaders to communicate and communications leaders to form
    With Sunday attendance a challenge for many families, 21st-century models of formation require reaching beyond the Sunday school hour. Learn about some best practices, some language to use and how to increase faith formation within your communications channels and vice versa.
  • Social Media for Churches 101
    Church communications of today rely on understanding the “why” and “how” of utilizing social media platforms. Learn how churches of all sizes and budgets can learn to create, develop, and maintain an innovative image using today’s social media.
  • Using Technology to Start the Conversation
    How can the church use technology to go deeper with its congregants and collect data along the way to help shape solutions for the problems they face? Join Clinton Faupel, CoFounder and Executive Director of RemedyLIVE, as he shares how polling and interactive teaching has helped him create an atmosphere of transparency by using simple text messaging to get people talking. Attendees will have the opportunity to practice with some of the technology during the session.
  • Getting the Right Kind of Media Attention
    Join former television reporter/anchor Sara Schaefer to learn more about how to get the media’s attention with appropriate news releases, story ideas and event information. Earned media is a valuable and cost-effective tool for congregations of all sized to know how to use.
  • Actively Connecting to the Community: Serving Needs Small and Large
    Andrew Hoffman, Executive Director of NeighborlinkFortWayne will talk about and demonstrate how technology can connect congregants to one another and to their community. Learn how this can be a first step in helping your church family serve other families in an active expression of faith and love.
