On a typical day, more than 40 people are lined up outside the InAsMuch Ministry at Broadway Christian Church. They come seeking food, clothes, and monetary support for a wide range of needs. What they find is compassion and gentle guidance toward self-sufficiency, led by The Reverend Alyn Biddle. “We’re here to build dignity and self-worth through a relationship with Jesus Christ and personal responsibility,” he says. The one-on-one counseling at Inasmuch starts with prayer and a pledge to attend church. “After all,” says Biddle, “a changed heart is a changed life.” The Lutheran Foundation is pleased to support the important work of the InAsMuch Ministry, an organization that shares our commitment to caring for those in need.
