SHAREHOUSE is a program of Love in Deed, Inc. that distributes a wide range of non-perishable items to nonprofit organizations—for use in their own operations or to be donated to those they serve. “We began SHAREHOUSE to help charitable organizations better focus on their work,” said The Reverend Steve Jones, Executive Director.
SHAREHOUSE receives household goods and office supplies from major retail donors, manufacturers and businesses. As Operations Manager Martha Castleman puts it, “We don’t warehouse items, we get them out the door as quickly as possible—hence the name SHAREHOUSE.” The program has experienced astounding growth and has now “maxed out” its current facilities. Said Castleman, “In the first year, we served 27 organizations and distributed just over 24 tons. We now have more than 150 participating nonprofits and will have distributed close to 100 tons in our second year.” That’s 100 tons of goods in support of God’s work across our region.
